A bit more info on the Bali Peace Park.
Salamat datang and welcome to The Bali Peace Park Association Inc.
Mission Statement
To create a spiritual garden on the Sari Club site for persons, to reflect and acknowledge the terrorist attack on October 12th 2002, along with all acts of terror worldwide and to help build a future without fear by promoting tolerance, understanding and freedom for generations to come, irrespective of nationality, culture, religious belief or race.
OVERVIEW
The Bali Peace Park Association Inc is made up of survivors of the October 2002 terrorist attack in Kuta, their relatives, friends and supporters. It is our aim to acquire the Sari Club site and work alongside the Balinese to create a spiritual garden.
Our two patrons are Dr Fiona Wood in Australia and the recently elected Governor of Bali Bapak Drs. Made Mangku Pastika – the former Police Chief who spearheaded the successful investigation of the 2002 Bali Bombings and subsequent capture of the terrorists.
We have had an overwhelming amount of support from many people worldwide and will require fundraising and sponsorship of AU$2 million to purchase the land and make the park a reality. We estimate that the project will take between 18 – 24 months and are looking to officially open the park by October 2010.
The success of the Bali Peace Park relies solely on donations and sponsorships. We appreciate all support that is given to us.
We thank you for taking the time to view our site and hope that you will join with us and the rest of the world in moving forward with a peaceful stand against terrorism while acknowledging the events of the past.
